Shark Diving at Busan Aquarium

At the subway, before training...

All geared up :) The equipment weighed about 30lbs, but it was weightless once in the water. In training we learned that we need to give the "OK" signal when everything's good instead of the "thumbs up" signal, which means "get me outta here!"

From left to right: Me, Tara, Nicole, Katie, and Brendan. Tara and Nicole are from New Zealand and Katie and Brendan are Aussies.

I still can't believe I did this...

These are photos taken from within the tank. you may be able to notice the people on the other side of the glass.

At the restaurant awaiting our burgers

Great shot of us biting and chewing...

Assignment gone scary

I just had to post this. I gave my students an assignment where they had to write a list of 10 things they would do if they were given one month to live. It's basically a bucket list. This is what I got....

Before I die, I want to...

- Go to fire station and remove water
- Bomb the Great Wall
- Buy a panda and grow it
- Eat a person
- Summon the devil
- Have a conversation with a polar bear
- Do the movie "Saw" in real life
- Ride a turtle
- Fight a bear with my bare hands
- Dig towards the middle of the earth
- Thief money
- Thief cow, pig, and duck
- Go to gas station, fire in the hole
- Lick a cow breast
- Kill 50 people that annoy me
- Shoot a gun and throw C4
- Go to Disneyland in Los Angeles
- Be fat
- Participate in a terrorist group
- Change my gender
- Fight a horse
- Kidnap a beautiful woman
- Make a zombie
- Meet an alien or ghost
- Take a bath

Suffice it to say that, many of my students are seriously deranged.

Bukbu Beach

Bukbu beach is one of the main attractions in Pohang.

Me, Tara, and Mareta -- 2 Kiwis and a Canadian

More randomness in Korea

This is one of the many "business bars" in Korea. Think brothel.

This was our restaurant of choice for our post-beach meal. For some reason, Koreans believe putting a picture of livestock rolling around in their own filth is more appetizing than a picture of cooked meat.

This was Mareta's archnememis...

It looks like she's won...but sadly no.

Sports Day

A while ago...May actually, we had a "Sports Day". No actual sports were involved, we pretty much just ran an obstacle course.

Activities included: running with ridiculously over-sized and horribly patterned grandma pants, hula hooping, a tug of war, teacher and student three-legged racing, and trying to open a box with a set of keys--Korean weirdness at its best.

A math and science teacher -- just awesome
